CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management)

REACH provides assistance to individuals and groups in urgent crisis and emergency situations by assessing the situations, doing psychological first-aid, managing individuals and groups through debriefings, emergency counseling, and situation crisis management.

Category 1:

Urgent Response, which include all or portion of CISM phases dependant on the severity level of the crisis. These phases can include:

  • Respond to the Crisis
  • Assessment of the Crisis
  • SAFER-R Model
  • RITS Model
  • CM Briefing
  • Strategic Planning (5T’s)
  • CISM Defusing
  • CISM Debriefing
  • Crisis Follow-up

Category 2:

Follow-up delivered in short-term formats which fall outside initial CISM response phases. These are non-urgent, non-crisis services that are offered immediately following a CISM response to an urgent crisis. These short-term follow-up responses are designed specifically to meet each unique situation. These can include:

  • Psychological First Aid Assessment   Trauma Support Advocacy
  • Natural Disaster Support
  • Threat Assessment
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Negotiation/Mediation
  • Grief Support
  • Acts of Violence/Terrorism Intervention
  • Gang/Bullying Intervention & Support
